A Look Back At 2012 – By Anthony Morrison

December 28th, 2012   posted by admin in Year Reviews

Well the time has come for me to post my ‘look back’ on the year 2012. I have to say it was a great year for me and my family, but there were certainly some trying times this year that I have never really experienced before in my 30 years.
I will outline some of the things here that really catch my attention as I look back at 2012….

1. Let’s Start With The Obvious – YIKES ! I turned 30 this year on December 24th. Talk about just a shock. I started all my businesses in my twenties so I have literally gone from a kid in college with the hopes of being a doctor one day to an Internet Entrepreneur, Author, Speaker, Businessman, Investor etc etc etc all in my twenties. I gotta say being 30feel’s no different, but in my mind I know things are going to change for me. When I turned 20 I knew what I thought I wanted to do for my life. As I turn 30 I now ‘know’ what I am doing with my life. This next decade represents to me just time to pour my energy into building new businesses and continuing to do what I love to do. I think it’s going to be exciting and fun. I am so happy to have my students along for the ride.

2. I became a God Father – Yep earlier this year my best friends Josh and Susan Siegal welcomed their first child into this world, Emma Siegal, and selected me as her God Father. I didn’t really think much about ‘what that means’ until recently, but now I know just how much of a responsibility that is for the next 20, 30 and so on years. Of course it’s a responsibility I am honored and excited to accept. She’s just the cutest little baby I have ever seen and she smiles constantly. Josh and I go way back (all the way to 6th grade!) which now is like 2 decades ago for us old guys. I’ve realized that God puts you in peoples lives for a reason and it’s up to us to really determine ‘what’ that reason is on our own. I believe we are in each others lives so we can help one another become better people, take care of our families and always provide encouragement and support to each other. I couldn’t ask for a better friend, hands down, and now I am lucky enough to be the God Father of his first child. We’ve come a LONG way from a couple of arguments in 6th grade. All I can do is thank God every day we have each other as best friends.

3. Troubled Health – This year my family was faced with some serious health issues. It was the first time that I can remember ever having such ‘serious’ things happen to my parents. My mom had to have surgery around May and my dad ended up in emergency surgery in July. I am happy to say both of them are doing fine now and should live many more years, but it certainly was a wake up call for me. I’ve been so easy to just run through life, focus on my work and sort of let go of some of that ‘family time’ that means so much to me. Just ‘feeling’ like I might lose them this year really has opened my eyes and made me realize work just has to take a back seat to family so that will be one of my 2013 resolutions for sure.

4. Big Changes For My Girlfriend – This year I really for the first time had to be a real ‘support’ for my girlfriend. Her family moved from Seattle to Portland, which means she lost the home she grew up in as a child. It was devastating to her. She’s lived here with me now for 2 years and I would imagine she’s going to live with me for the rest of my life. I love her with all of my heart unconditionally. Seeing her go through the pain of just losing what she called ‘home’ really hurt me a lot. It’s made me more focused on making sure our home starts to feel like ‘home’ for her. I also realized I can really be the support that she needs in a tough time. I think relationships have to start by first being best friends. People you can count on no matter what and people you can always trust to support you. I feel like we’ve grown closer because of this and we are both looking forward to exploring Portland in 2013 and see what it has to offer us in the way of new experiences. I think we will both miss Seattle, but we look forward to something new and exciting for 2013 in Portland.

5. My Brother Hit National TV – Well it’s not to often you see your little brother follow so closely in your footsteps, but I have to say 2012 was really his year! He’s now recognized as one of the BEST speakers in the country on Internet Marketing. He has spoken to literally thousands of people around the country and helped to educate America on what it takes to be successful in the world of Social Media Advertising. Not only that, but he was interviewed on Success TV about his book Social Media Profits From Home, which has now become a hit national television show! So let’s see this year he became one of the best speakers on the planet, wrote a killer book and ended up on national TV…. Looks like I need to set my sights a bit higher to keep up in 2013….. read more about him at www.AdrianMorrison.com. And to Adrian I am proud of you for being so successful, so driven and never letting people make you think you “can not” do something. All your life people said you were ADHD and this and that well look at you now …. prime example of why if you keep faith in yourself you can always have the success you want.

6. Company Growth – I have to say overall I am stoked about the growth of our companies in 2012. We’ve welcomed many new people in our offices, some of which came from hundreds of miles away to work with us on our projects. We’ve seen massive growth in 2012 and are projected to do even better in 2013. A lot of this has to do with just staying on top of what’s happening online. I encourage everyone to stay educated on what’s going on online. It’s changing daily, but offers new opportunities to have success with every change. The Internet is here to stay so hopefully I can continue to encourage you all to take it seriously and take advantage of it.

7. My First Christmas At Home - Another ‘first’ for me this year was Christmas with my girlfriend in our home. We’ve been together now for 3 Christmases all of which we have spent apart. With her family living on the other side of the country it was impossible to be in two places on one day. This year her family came to our home and spent Christmas with us and it was a blast ! Finally not ‘pretending’ it was Christmas when she opened her gifts and all was really nice, plus having her family and mine together during this time of year was really amazing for us both. We love our families it’s very hard to consider our relationship and geographical location keeping us from important times and events with them so we’ve always been apart from each other. I look for that to change as we move forward…… and this year was a great start!

8. Saints Season Tickets - Yes Yes Yes I know…. the Saints didn’t play well, but this was the first year we got to use our Saints Season Tickets. Myself, Josh, Susan and Alexa went to most every Saints home game this year and it was a blast! I rarely take time to just do things that I love doing for ‘fun’. If works not involved likely I am not to interested in doing it, but this year I did make time for the games and it was a lot of fun. We got Club Level tickets so we went into this really nice club at the Dome and enjoyed some great food before each game. I’d say it’s the most ‘fun’ I have had in years! Let’s just hope the Saints have a better season next year.

9. Less travel – I was just reading what I posed about last year and realized I HATED all the non stop travel we were doing. This year has really been more subdued. We’ve taken some vacations to Destin, The Keys, Orange County and NYC but we haven’t spent the entire year traveling for work. It’s nice to just sit back and relax at home for awhile. I am not sure what 2013 has in store for us as far as travel goes, but let’s hope it’s about like this year :)

10. A New Friendship – Doing what I do hasn’t really allowed me many friends, at least not local ones. I am pretty much submerged into work (considering I run so many companies in a day) so my social life is lacking to say the least. I’m happy spending my free time with Alexa and obviously working, but this year I found a new friend. Tim moved here from California to work with me on some projects and we’ve not only been good working partners, but also become really good friends. It’s rare when you find someone that constantly reminds you to ‘take time off’ and ‘focus on your health & less stress’ right? especially when that same person has everything to gain from me working around the clock non stop. He’s really become a good friend of mine who’s relocated his life just to work with me. Like I said I think God puts people in your life for a reason. There are many things I have already learned from Tim and I look forward to working with him more in 2013 and continuing to become even better friends with him. At the end of the day work, companies, success it all comes to an end….. friends last forever. Tim I am glad to call you my friend man.

Getting Your Timeline Ready

July 24th, 2012   posted by admin in Affiliate Marketing, Facebook Marketing Tips

Facebook’s new Timeline gives users more control over their profiles than ever before. However, in order to benefit from this, you need to know how to:

  • Upload a cover image
  • Arrange the top of your Facebook page
  • Edit your Timeline
  • Add milestones to your Timeline

Uploading a Cover Image

I talked about the cover image in the blog post. However, I did not go over the steps for uploading the cover image on Facebook. Go to your Facebook page and scroll down to about the middle of the page. You’ll see an icon that says “Add a Cover.” Click on it.

You’ll see a pop up that contains the rules that govern cover photos. I covered those rules in the blog post, so you can just click “Okay.”

Then, you’ll need to decide if you’re going to use one of your current Facebook pictures as a cover photo, or if you’re going to upload a new photo. Make your decision, select the photo you want, and upload it. Then, position the photo and then save it.

Now let’s move on to the arranging the top of your Facebook page.

Arranging the Top of your Facebook Page

The top of your page contains:

  • Photos
  • Likes
  • Apps

The top of your page can show up to twelve items, and you can arrange them how you want. Go to the section of your page that displays the apps and pictures. Click on the arrow to expand the results. Hover your mouse over one of the icons. Click on the “Edit” icon. It looks like a pencil. Once you do that, you can change the icon’s position by swapping positions with another icon. Arrange the icons so the most important are at the top. For example, if you use Twitter for Pages, you want that icon to display so people can view your Twitter feed. Thus, you’ll put that icon in one of the top positions.

Editing Your Timeline

Next, you need to edit your Timeline. Right now, your Timeline is full of all of your posts. You can clean your Timeline up by deleting posts. Additionally, you can choose to highlight your most important posts. If you highlight a post, it will take up two columns instead of one.

Highlighting posts is simple. Just hover your mouse over the post you want to highlight and click the star icon. Then, if you don’t want the post to be highlighted any more, just click the star icon again.

You can also click on “Manage” at the top of the page. Then, select the “Activity Log.” This will show you all of your activity on Facebook.  On the right hand side of the post, you’ll see an open circle or a circle with a line through it. Open circles represent posts that are allowed on your page, while circles with lines through them represent posts that aren’t allowed on the page. You can change what is or is not allowed from this screen.

Adding Milestones to Your Timeline

Finally, you can add milestones to your Timeline. A milestone refers to an important event in your company’s history. It’s important to understand that you can be a sole proprietor and still have milestones.

You can add a milestone by going to the status update section of your Facebook page. Click on the Event, Milestone+ tab and select “Milestone.” If you haven’t added a milestone for the day you started your business, you’ll be promoted to do so. Once you do that, you can go back to the “Milestone” tab and select “Milestone” once again. Then, you can add a new milestone. You can also upload pictures that go with that milestone.

Now you’re ready to make the most out of your Facebook Timeline. Get started so you can have a powerful profile that will attract fans.

Market Commission Junction Products with Pinterest

July 1st, 2012   posted by admin in Affiliate Marketing, Internet Marketing

You can use Pinterest to market affiliate products. However, Pinterest doesn’t accept standard affiliate links. Thus, you need to alter the link in order to market your products.

This is incredibly simple to do. I’m going to take you through the steps so you can start using Pinterest to market Commission Junction Products

Step 1 – Find a Product

Log into Commission Junction and look for a product you want to market.

Step 2 – Find an Image Ad for that Product

Skip past the text ads, since you can’t use those on Pinterest. Instead, search for image ads. Once you find an image ad you like, click on it. Then, click “Get HTML.” Copy the link into a Word document or text file.

Step 3 – Save the Image Ad to Your Computer

You can’t upload the image directly from Commission Junction to Pinterest. Thus, you need to save the image to your computer. Just right click on the image and select “Save As.” Choose your save destination. Then, leave your web browser open to the Commission Junction page and move on to the next step.

Step 4 – Add the Image Ad to Pinterest

Now, you need to open a new webpage and go to Pinterest. You’ll see “Add” at the top of the page. Click on it and select “Upload a Pin.” Then, you’ll be able to upload the image you saved to your computer. Upload the image, write a description and select “Pin It.”

Step 5 – Change the Affiliate Link

Open up the Word document or text file that contains the affiliate link. You’ll need to take two sections of the link out. First, remove <a href= at the beginning of the link. Then, look for the word “target” in the link. Remove “target” and everything that appears after it.

Step 6 – Add the New Link to Your Pin

Finally, you can go back to Pinterest and click “Edit” for the image you just pinned. Put the altered link in the “Link” box and save your pin. Once you do that, click on the link to make sure it sends you to the merchant’s page. If it does, you’re ready to start marketing Commission Junction products onPinterest.

Understanding Facebook’s New Timeline for Pages

June 4th, 2012   posted by admin in Facebook Marketing Tips

There’s a good chance you’ve noticed that Facebook has changed to a new Timeline format. What you may not realize, though, is all of the changes that come with this new format. Today, I’m going to go over the changes so you’ll be able to get the most out of Facebook.

No Default Landing Pages

One of the biggest changes is users can’t use landing pages anymore. That means you can’t use “Like Gates” to get people to “Like” a page before they view it. You can still create tabs for your Facebook page using Pagemodo, Wildfire Interactive, or one of the other services, though. However, users will actually have to click on the tab since they’ll automatically go to your wall when they visit your page.

It’s important to note that the tabs are much more prominent on the new Timeline. Previously, your tabs and apps were on the left hand side of the page. They were hard to see, and most users probably ignored them. Now, though, the apps are prominently displayed with icons. These large icons can be arranged to your liking, and they really stand out to users. Because of that, you shouldn’t be too concerned about the absence of landing pages. While landing pages are gone, users will be able to visit all of your tabs easily, so you should get the same amount of traffic.

Option to Pin an Update to the Top of Your Page

While you can’t have a landing page with the new Timeline, you can still control what users see when they first visit your page. That’s because you can pin a status update to the top of the page. Once you do that, it will stay there for an entire week.

Thus, if you have a special announcement or a great offer, you can pin it to the top of the page, where it is sure to be seen.

This is easy to do. Simply create and post a status update. Then, go to the icon that looks like a pencil. Click on it and select “Pin to Top.”

Cover Photos

The new Timeline also allows users to add cover photos. A cover photo isn’t the same as the standard profile photo. Unlike the standard photos, cover photos take up the entire top of the Facebook page. That means they provide people with a great opportunity for marketing and branding.

It’s important to note that your cover photo cannot contain information about discounts or deals, prices for products or services you offer, or calls to action. Additionally, you can’t use the words “like” or “share.”

However, your photo can still be a powerful marketing tool. For example, you can use a picture of someone using your products, or post a picture of you at an industry event. The sky really is the limit when you choose your cover photo. Just remember it’s the first thing people will see when they visit your page, so be creative.

As you can see, Facebook’s new Timeline provides marketers with some exciting opportunities. Be sure to check out my special report below so you can utilize all of those features.

Pinterest – The Newest Way to Promote Products

May 29th, 2012   posted by admin in Affiliate Marketing, E-Commerce, Internet Marketing

The world of social networking is constantly changing. Several years ago, marketers flocked to MySpace. Then, they started using Facebook and Twitter. Now, there’s a new social networking site in the mix. It’s called Pinterest and it’s quickly becoming one of the most popular websites online.

What is Pinterest?

Pinterest is an online pin board. Basically, people can pin pictures that they want to share with others on Pinterest. If someone clicks on a picture, he will be redirected to the site that hosts the image. For example, if you pin an image from AnthonyMorrison.com and someone clicks on it, the user will be redirected to my website.

Along with that, people can re-pin or “Like” images. This will allow those images to reach a broader audience. For instance, if you pin a picture of one of your products and someone chooses to re-pin it, that picture will become available to that user’s friends. Thus, you’ll get some extra exposure.

Pin Boards

Pinterest doesn’t just allow users to upload pictures. The site also allows people to organize those pictures with pin boards. Users can create pin boards for different categories, and then pin the images accordingly. This can really help marketers move products and get their message out to the masses.

While you can create any pin board or pin boards that you want, I recommend that you create pin boards for:

  • Your products
  • Testimonials
  • Customers
  • Special offers

Let’s look at how you could use each of these pin boards.

Product Pin Board

This pin board would contain pictures of the different products you sell. You won’t be able to use sales language, but people can still browse through the products and see if there’s anything they want.

Testimonial Pin Board

A testimonial pin board will help you build trust with your audience. It’s important to note that you can’t use written testimonials, since Pinterest is an image site. That means you’ll have to get a little creative. You could have users submit pictures of them using your products, or you could have users take pictures of themselves while they hold up a sign talking about the benefits of your products. If you don’t have any pictures like that, consider running a contest on your Facebook page. Have users submit pictures, and then add them to your pin board. You’ll have lots of pictures in no time, and those pictures will help you market your products.

Customers Pin board

A customer generated pin board is also a good idea. You can allow other people to pin images to this pin board. Then, you can have your customers upload their favorite images. They can be related to your products, or just your niche. Either way, it will engage your followers and encourage interaction.

Special Offers Pin board

Finally, you can create a pin board full of your discounts, deals or special offers. There are a couple of ways you can do this. One, you can create image ads or banners on your website, and then pin them to Pinterest. Two, you can create a QR Code that contains the special deal. QR Codes are similar to bar codes, but they were created for the online world. Anyone can make them, and like a bar code, they store information. Users can download a free application for their smart phones and then scan the QR code. Once scanned, the code will display the special offer or any other information the marketer included.

You can create QR codes for free online. Simply Google “QR Code generator,” pick a site and create your code.

As you can see, Pinterest provides marketers with a lot of opportunities. The site can help you reach a broader audience, engage potential customers, and increase your sales.

Be sure to check out my special report about marketing Commission Junction products with Pinterest. The report includes information that isn’t readily available online, and is essential if you want to use the online pin board to market affiliate products.

Affiliate Marketing – A Recipe for Success

March 4th, 2012   posted by admin in Affiliate Marketing, Blogging

The first time I looked at Affiliate Marketing, the tasks involved seemed daunting to say the least.  There were so many steps that needed to be followed so see any success.  Don’t let the amount of work and confusion scare you off before you begin your new business venture.  In fact, if you follow this simple Affiliate Marketing recipe, you can easily find a successful career based on something you love.

Do Your Research

The first step of any Affiliate Market must be research.  How can you sell a product that you know nothing about?  Before you start looking for a web URL and begin building a site, take some time to learn everything you can about your niche.  Just because a niche is popular, it may not be the best fit for you.  You want a site that you can be seen as an expert in your niche.  Take time and learn everything you can.  There is nothing worse than telling a potential customer that you do not know something about your niche and you will get back to them.

While you are gathering information, look at what your potential customers are looking for.  You do not want a site catered to eBook downloads when you audience wants a hardcover book that they can get their hands on.  Likewise, you may find that the products that are available are oversaturated on the web now.  You want a product that you can market easily with little competition.  Let the products and knowledge choose the niche for you.

Choosing the Right Product

You will also want to research the products available.  It is a good idea to start with a topic that you are interested in.  Then do a simple web search and see what information is available.  You will want to take this information and search for products that are available.  Check the top affiliate sites (Clickbank, Commission Junction and Linkshare) and see if there are products that fit into your niche. Only after you have content and products should you begin with your site design.

While researching, you may also find that there is not an abundance of products that suit your niche.  This does not have to be a problem.  You can take the time and create your own product.  You may not have the internet savvy to create a web program that you can sell, but you can create an eBook or eCourse that you can sell from your site.

Gain Their Trust

The most important factor in gaining conversions is to gain your audience’s trust.  When they trust you, they are more likely to buy products.  This can be done in several ways.  Create a Facebook fanpage where you give them information and answer their questions.  You will also want to post to your blog regularly with pertinent content.  You want them to come to you when they have a question on your niche.  This way, you can answer their questions.  For example, if they ask you the best way to lose weight, you can say “I used product X and saw great results.”  When you gain their trust, they are more apt to buy what you are selling.

If They Visit, They Will Buy

A successful Affiliate Marketing business comes down to people visiting your site.  If you have no readers, you will have no sells.  You need to build links to your site so you can increase your customer base.  Getting quality readers does not have to cost you a lot of money.  Use the free resources on the web.  You can submit your URS to free sites.  This takes time, but you will see results.  Write a few articles and submit them to article bases.  A well written article on Ezine Articles can generate hundreds of leads and help gain your audience’s trust.  Another great way to generate leads at little or no cost is to create a short eBook and submit it to free eBook sites.  Include links to your site throughout the eBook.  This way, everyone who downloads the book will be directed to your site for more information.

While Affiliate Marketing is not a get rich quick scheme, it is also not rocket science.  You can find success if you follow this simple recipe.  The first step in any successful career is to take the time to learn the process.  These steps take the guesswork out of starting your business.

I’ve also put together a nice report to help you profit from what I taught you here on this blog. You of course get this report COMPLETELY FREE because you are one of my loyal subscribers and students. Here ya go…

How to Choose a Niche Site

February 12th, 2012   posted by admin in Affiliate Marketing, Blogging

One of the top tools for an Affiliate Marketer is their niche site.  If you do not have one yet, you should really consider creating one today.  Niche sites are a great way to increase monthly revenue and promote products.  A well marketed niche site gives you the opportunity to focus your attention and rapidly gain expert status in the community.

What is a Niche Site

Before you can create a niche site, you need to understand what it is.  A niche site is a highly targeted market.  A niche site lets you take a topic, such as pets, and break it down until you get a very specific market.  Let’s go over an example.  Say you want to create a site about pets.  This is a very broad topic that can encompass all pets, supplies, training and information.  This site would be hard to rank because there are so many blogs on pets.  With a niche site, you will narrow down your focus.  You can create a site that focuses on dogs.  This is still a very popular topic so you may have a hard time getting traffic to your site.  You then narrow down it more.  You can create a niche site on dog training, dog treat recipes or clothes for your dogs.  Any of these would be a good niche site topic.

Brainstorm for Ideas

Your first step when choosing a topic for your niche site is to brainstorm.  Make a list of topics that interest you.  Write down everything that you find interesting.  Do not edit your list.  After you brainstorm, you will have a long list of topics.  You want a large list because in your next step, you will take you list and see which topics are being searched for.

After you have a list, break down each topic into subcategories.  If you are interested in basketball, a sub-category could be playing basketball.  You can then take your sub-category and break it down further.  A good example is jump shots.  You will then take this list and search for popularity.

Research Popularity

Now that you have a list of your interests, it is time to narrow down your options further.  The best way to do this is to take your list and search for keywords.  You want to look at the search volume of each topic.  I find adwords.google.com is the most comprehensive tool to find the popularity of a topic.  Type each topic and sub-topic into the search engine and check the statistics.

I will use the pet example from above.  When I check the statistics for pets, dogs, and dog treat recipes, I get the following results:

  • Pets: 13,600,000 unique searches
  • Dogs: 45,500,000 unique searches
  • Dog treat recipes: 40,500 unique searches

As you can see, pets and dogs have an extremely large search volume while dog treat recipes has manageable results.  You will have a better chance of higher search listing if you choose this topic.

Check for Products

Now that you have your topics picked, you want to find products related to the topic.  This step is simple.  You will want to sign onto Clickbank and search for your topic.  When I search for tog treat recipes, I find several products that are on target for my site.  Look at the conversions, profits and buyer reputation and choose products that you can market.

Niche markets are highly popular in Affiliate Marketing.  Before you can even begin to build a site and make sales, you need to make sure that customers want your products.  Follow these simple steps and you will have a manageable site that can easily convert and keep reader’s attention.

I’ve also put together a nice report to help you profit from this strategy. You of course get this report COMPLETELY FREE because you are one of my loyal subscribers and students. Here ya go…

Are You The Best Affiliate Marketer You Can Be?

January 3rd, 2012   posted by admin in Affiliate Marketing, Blogging

Are you the best Affiliate Marketer you can be?  Sure, you have a few sites up and running and you are making a little money, but are you taking all the steps necessary to become the best?  Affiliate Marketing is not a get rich quick scheme.  It is a business that needs to be cultivated to continue bringing in revenue.  While Affiliate Marketing can be a good way to generate revenue to your website, using the tips below can ensure you have a solid foundation that you can build your business on for years to come.

Get to Know Your Customers

One of the biggest mistakes I see with newbie Affiliate Marketers is jumping right in and trying to sell products immediately.  How can you sell products to your audience when you do not know what they are interested in?  Take some time and get to know your audience.  Your first step should be asking yourself, “Why are people visiting my site?”  Once you know what they are interested in, you can brainstorm and tailor products that fill their needs.  For example, if you create a site that is dedicated to pet information, you can sell them pet training books, dog collars or treat recipes.  Your site should fill all your audience’s needs from information to products.

Make Sure Your Customer Have Trust in You

Customers are more likely to purchase products from people they trust.  Gaining that trust can take time, but it is necessary if you are going to have a successful business.  There are several ways that you can build this trust.  One of the easiest ways is through social marketing.  Facebook gives you the perfect opportunity to create a relationship with your customers.  Spend some time every day responding to your posts with relevant information.  Engage your visitors and get them thinking of you as a friend instead of a salesman.

You also want to make sure that selling products is not the main focus of your site.  Sure, you want to sell products, but you should use your site to give them relevant information that coincides with the products you are selling.  You want to provide your readers with great content that will keep them coming back for more.  Once you have their attention, you can share a product that you have found helpful.

Choose Products Wisely

You have thousands of products to choose from.  There is no reason that you should try selling products that you do not have a passion in and back 100%.  Take your time when choosing your products.  It will take time for you to choose a group of products that work well together and suit the needs of your client.  Try several products, but do not be afraid to switch to new products if you see they are not converting.  Your site is not set in stone.  You will have to make changes to products, banners and link ads until you find the combination that works for your audience.

Likewise, you do not want to try to sell products that are not related to your niche.  One wrong placed product can lose the trust that you have spent so long trying to gain.  When choosing products ask yourself, “Is this something my readers need?”  The products you choose should add relevant value to your site.

Becoming a successful Affiliate Marketer is not brain surgery.  However, there are steps that you need to follow if you are going to keep your audience coming back for more.  The most important tip I can give you is to take the time necessary to engage your followers.  Just because you are working from home, it does not mean that you don’t have to work every day.  You need to post articles, respond to questions and engage your audience if you are going to see product conversions.

Holidays Are The Time For Sales If You Market It Properly

December 20th, 2011   posted by admin in Affiliate Marketing, Blogging

We are in the midst of the holiday season.  It is the most shopped season of the year.  Is your site holiday ready?  You know people will be shopping.  You need to make sure they are buying from you.  If you make a few simple changes and follow these steps, you can cash in on the holiday shopping rush.

Offer Free Incentives and Sales

One of the biggest turn off for online shoppers is shipping.  In fact, over 70% of shoppers will not buy a product because of the cost of shipping.  A good way to cash in on holiday shopping is to offer free shipping.  Most affiliate programs like Amazon Affiliates or Commission Junction offer products with free shipping for the holidays.  Take advantage of their generosity and pass it on to your customers.

Most shoppers also have several gifts to buy this holiday season.  They are always looking for the best price they can get.  Look for holiday deals that your readers will appreciate.  Something as simple as 10% off can mean the difference between a sale or a pass.

Change Your Products to Suit the Holiday

Product needs change with holiday seasons and your products should change to reflect the season.  Christmas will bring higher toy and electronic sales.  Halloween shows an increase in costumes and decorations.  Before each holiday do your research to make sure you are selling the products that are in high demand.  With a simple web search you can find the best products to sell each season.  Before the holiday gets here, check out these sites to see what products you should be selling:

  • Ebay Pulse
  • Amazon Best Sellers
  • About.com Editor’s Picks
  • Amazon Holiday Toy List
  • Google Trends
  • Yahoo Trending Now

Create Review Posts

One of the best ways to generate sales is to review products.  Online customers do not have the luxury of holding your products in their hands before making a purchase.  Write posts that review several products in your niche.  You can include links to your products in each review.  The more information you give your customers, the more likely you are to make a sale.

Make Buying Easy on Your Customers

The holiday season is hectic.  Take some time to make your site user friendly and you can increase sales. Include links to your products on your site’s main page.  Don’t make them have to search for the product they want to purchase.  You can also include helpful information like the last day to order and get their product on time.  The easier you make your site to navigate for your customers the best.

The holiday season should mean increased sales to your site.  People are busy shopping and you want to get in on the holiday rush.  With these few simple steps, you can ensure that your sales skyrocket this holiday season.

When creating your Facebook Fanpage, what type of image did you use?  One of the most common mistakes when creating your Facebook is made when you first create your page.  Most people think that a profile image is limited to a 200X200 pixel image.  However, with the recent changes, the sizes of profile images also changed.  While you still have a 200 pixel width restriction, the height limit was raised to 600 pixels.  This gives you more room to promote your products or business.  Use this additional space to give your readers more information on your business.

Create a Striking Welcome Page

First impressions are everything.  The same is true with your Fanpage.  When someone visits your page, you want to put your best foot forward and entice them to follow you.   Accomplishing this is easy when you create a Welcome Page.  You can even create a page for new visitors and a separate page for followers.

Welcome pages for new customers should draw them in with information about your business and products.  Give them a sample of the services that you offer.  Use every trick in the book to get them to like your page.  Pages for existing followers can be used to promote specials, new products and services.  This way, everyone that visits your page will get new information helping you increase sales.

Creating a Welcome page is as simple as installing an app.  You do not have to have html or web design knowledge.  In fact, most Welcome Page apps do not even require a designed page.  The most popular apps for Welcome Tab creations are:

  • TabSite
  • FaceIt Pages

Each of these programs lets you choose a layout, images and wording to create a personalized Welcome Page.  The cost of running these apps range from $5-$15 per month, however, Pagemodo allows you to run one welcome page free.  It is good to note however that with a paid subscription, you have access to more templates and can several Welcome pages on your Fanpage.

Use Apps to Your Advantage

Facebook Apps are your best friend, at least they should be.  There are apps for creating events, sharing YouTube Videos, creating promotions and everything in between.  You have access to thousands of apps to make the most of your Fanpage and you should be using them.  Some of the most popular apps include:
