Is Now The Time? – By Anthony Morrison

October 6th, 2008   posted by admin in Entrepreneurship

Many people ask me for advice on starting a business, making a current business grow, or just investing their money in the right places. I have always told people “invest in yourself” if you really want to become successful.  With the proper advice, skills, knowledge, and planning I believe many people can become successful millionaires, and yes I am talking about even the people who never dreamed becoming wealthy would ever happend to them. The difference between the successful millionaires in this country, and those who never achieve that goal is simple: Determination, Motivation, Education, & Mindset.

Everyone knows you must be determined to be successful, and you obviously need to be motivated to succeed. You also need knowledge or “education” in order to properly go after your goal of becoming a millionaire, and being successful in business. However, one of the main things people forget is you must have the right “mindset”. Having the entrepreneurial mindset is the biggest key to launching your own business, and being successful. With our current economy I must ask you this question. Is now the right time?

Think about that for just a minute. Banks are closing down, huge businesses are going under daily, and you can’t turn on the TV without hearing something about the current financial crisis. Yet I am asking you if NOW is the right time to start your own business and go after your entrepreneurial goals. It might seem crazy, but I honestly think now is the perfect time. You probably won’t find yourself as determined and motivated to build a business as you are right now. When things are going great we all tend to fall in what I call a “rut” you wake up goto work and have no worries. It’s kinda hard to really be “driven” or “motivated” to start your own business when your just coasting along. However, when hard times hit you become more aware of your situation and its vulnerability. This creates the perfect drive, motivation, and mindset for success. Thats exactly what happend to me when my father lost his life savings in the WorldCom stock crash.

Instead of buying more stock or investing in more real estate…… why not just invest in yourself?

CNN Interview – Anthony Morrison

September 29th, 2008   posted by admin in Entrepreneurship

Well this weekend saw another first for me in my life. I was interviewed for a few minutes on CNN nationwide about how I started a business that was so successful even in today’s economy. I have to say for a minute I was a bit nervous. I have spoken to thousands of people around the country, been interviewed on tv, and produced TV shows of my own, however, I have never been on “national” television. Luckily everything went well and I didn’t mess anything up.

Feeling that bit of “nervousness” made me realize something I forgot years ago and that is new things are sometimes nerve racking. It takes a lot to get me nervous, but I finally found something that does. I now remember how nervous I was when I started my first business, did my first tv show, and my first interview. I want to offer a bit of advice to all young entrepreneur’s and aspiring entrepreneur’s …. Being nervous is ok!

Hopefully some of you saw the interview, but if you didn’t its posted on my News section of the website. Shoot me some feedback if you have time!

Entrepreneurship – Balancing Business & Life

September 15th, 2008   posted by admin in Entrepreneurship

One of the most important things for an entrepreneur to do is learn how to balance time between work and life. Most people are use to going to work from 9 to 5 and then spending time with their families. Entrepreneur’s aren’t really given the same 9 to 5 schedule. The fact of the matter is that most entrepreneurs end up working more than they end up living their life. That’s something I had to deal with immediately when I started my first business at 21 years old. I was never taught anything about having a healthy balance of work and free time. I use to spend almost 75 hours a week working, and it never really bothered me a single bit. I loved work, and I loved becoming successful.

However, after a few years of that I realized that I was overworking myself. I realized that I was going to burn out really fast if I didn’t take a few minutes for me. Just some time away from work to be a normal person and do normal things. I decided that balancing my time would eventually end up making me more successful in business because I wouldn’t get burned out with work. The minute I decided to have some free time to myself I became a much happier person, and more successful.

So for all the young people that email me asking “whats the most important thing to know in order to be successful” I would have to say this is right up at the top of the list. Don’t let your business run your life instead let your life run your business. In the end you will be glad you made that decision, and you will be more successful.

Fox Interview – Thoughts & Advice

September 10th, 2008   posted by admin in Entrepreneurship

I have a few minutes between seminars and decided I would make a post here to share some thoughts with everyone. I was just interviewed today on Fox channel 9 in Minneapolis, Mn about my book, and some tips for aspiring entrepreneur’s to help them be successful in their endeavors. I have to say the interview went very well, and the station was extremely accomodating. While I was being interviewed I was asked a simple question, yet one that many people really don’t seem to understand. “Why do you do conferences around the country when you make millions of dollars each year just sitting at home?” you know I never realized how many people around the country really want to know the answer to this question. Now that I am aware of it I figure its best to just answer it for everyone right here on my blog.

Doing the conferences is something I am very passionate about. As I say in my book the first step to being successful is doing something you LOVE doing. I love teaching people, and I love the challenge of taking someone that knows absolutely nothing about a computer and teaching them to use it to generate an income for themselves and their families. How many people in this country can say they taught someone how to earn a million dollars? I can and I am only 25 years old! That may sound like nothing to you, but then again like I said “do what you love doing”. For me helping people was always on my agenda I just always figured it would be in the medical field, not the financial field. Either way I get a great sense of accomplishment when I teach someone something to help them better their situation in life.

So do I need the money from a conference? No. Do I travel around the country teaching people what I know so I can get wealthy? No. I was already a millionaire BEFORE I started doing conferences and teaching people. I do my events because I truely love everything about it. I love networking, meeting new people, hearing other peoples life story, and sharing my story with those that come to my events. If nothing else my story simply motivates and inspires thousands of people around the country to achieve greater things in their life, and for that I am thankful. Just simply thankful that I can use a horrible event in my life to inspire others to achieve greater things in their own lives.

Well its time for me to go speak again….. so I hope this helped you all understand why I do what I do.

Two Very Important Words – Take Action

September 5th, 2008   posted by admin in Entrepreneurship

As I sit here thinking to myself what to write about today I am reminded of two words that ran through my mind day after day when my father lost all his money in the stock market a few years ago. I always thought to myself “why won’t dad just take action” and fix this situation. Regardless of where you are in your life in order to better yourself or your situation you must take action. Financial wealth doesn’t just fall in your lap, well at least not in most cases. Most often it requires YOU to TAKE ACTION to achieve the financial goals you have for yourself and your family.

I think of these two words every day. I am always meeting with people, brainstorming, and coming up with other business ventures online that can further my success in this industry. One thing that always comes to mind is that I must take action for any of these thoughts, ideas, or businesses to really materialize into anything of substance. Taking action is something that requires good planning, due diligence, and an open mind. You must be prepared for pitfalls because they will come no matter what you do in business. You must be prepared for setbacks and hurdles along the way; however, you must always remain confident and focused on the end result, achieving your goal. Taking action requires guts and determination and it sets entrepreneurs apart from the rest of the world. An entrepreneur isn’t scared to take action and work hard to achieve his or her goals.

In my life I took action because it was an obvious reaction to my father’s problems. He wasn’t going to do it and I knew no matter what someone had to take action in order to make the situation better. Dwelling on downfalls, financial problems, and other things won’t really get you any closer to being a successful entrepreneur than reading my book or taking my classes. The real key to success and becoming an entrepreneur is having the ability and right mindset to take action, and be prepared and educated before doing so.

I hope you all learned a little from this blog…… I just rambled on the thoughts in my head.

The Hidden Millionaire Book – Principle #1

September 1st, 2008   posted by admin in Entrepreneurship

I thought I would share one of the “principles to uncovering the entrepreneur in you” that I mention in my new book The Hidden Millionaire. You know so many people are “fearful” of success and what it takes to achieve your goals. One thing it takes to be successful in any business is the ability to take risks. I don’t mean just blindly go out and risk your life savings on some crazy business venture. I do mean you must be able to take a calculated risk, and realize that you have the ability and knowledge to make your venture work. Fear keeps people from doing many things in life, not just entrepreneurial ventures. Overcoming fear is the key to success in life, as well as in business.

I was certainly scared when I started my first business. I had no knowledge, no experience, no track record I was basically just guessing my way through everything. I got lucky and was very successful with my first business, however, each of my future businesses required me taking calculated risks in order to be successful. I never just “guessed” may way through anything after that first business. Success shouldn’t be about luck it should be about knowledge, skill, drive, and determination. Everyone can be successful in life as well as in business.

Inspiration – Something We All Need

August 24th, 2008   posted by admin in Entrepreneurship

I know many people look at me and say “if I could only get to where he’s at I would be content in life”. The fact is that “contentment” is actually the killer of entrepreneurialism, and success. In order to be successful you must always strive to be better, smarter, and well more successful in everything that you do. Sometimes I personally find it hard to really be driven to do more than I have already done, which after all isn’t too bad for someone my age. When I get to that point I always look for something or someone to inspire me to achieve greater things. Recently I did a Google search for young entrepreneurs and I was blown away at what I found in the results list. I knew of a few other young entrepreneurs like Cameron Johnson (his book You Call The Shots is one I highly suggest you read). What I did not realize is there were so many other people under 25 years old that were successful, and some of them beyond the level of success I have realized. This obviously has inspired me to do more, and never stop striving for growth.

Some of the people I suggest you read about are guys like Sean Belnick who started www.BizChairs.com and has generated literally millions of dollars selling business chairs on the internet, and he’s only 20. What about Ryan Allis, 23, who started www.iContact.com his company is on pace to do about 10 million dollars in revenue in 2008.

Honestly all you need to be successful in business is motivation to succeed. I talk about 12 key principles to entrepreneurship in my new book, The Hidden Millionaire, and one of the main ones is don’t be content and always look for ways to stay motivated. If reading about 20 and 23 year old multi-millionaire’s isn’t enough to motivate you I honestly don’t know what is. Their stories even motivated me, and I am in the same category as they are at this point in my life.

Strive to Learn More – My Best Advice

May 6th, 2008   posted by admin in Entrepreneurship

In my life I have always strived to learn as much as I possibly can from everyone I meet. I know it sounds crazy because most of the time people are trying to learn from me. This weekend I was at a gathering for one of my good friends from high school to celebrate his engagement and upcoming wedding. It was a reunion for me with many of the people I graduated with from High School in 2001. Everywhere I turned people were asking me what I do, how I do it, and just probing for as much information as they possibly could get from me. One of my close friends made the comment to me “that must get annoying”. As I thought about it alittle further I realized that while it does get annoying sometimes I have a great deal of respect for those people who probe me for answers. They are all trying to learn more to better themselves and for that I commend them. I want to make yet another suggestion to everyone who is ready to learn and prosper as an entrepreneur. Read Cameron Johnson’s book! (www.youcalltheshotsbook.com).

I was so impressed with this book that after reading it I gave it to my mom and told her to read it in her free time. She came to me two days later FINISHED with the book. I was a bit shocked considering my mother is quite a busy lady and this book isn’t thin. She said the story reminded her so much of me that she couldn’t stop reading it. She was even inspired by the book and certainly glad she took the time to read it. It’s not that Cameron Johnson has done anything I haven’t done myself, but it is refreshing to find someone else my age that has accomplished many of the same things I have in my lifetime.

I know I seem like I am on the “Cameron Johnson” fanclub right now. I’m really not but I have a tremendous amount of respect for anyone who has accomplished the things he has accomplished. I also respect the way he lives his life and the decisions he has made in business. One of the biggest things that stood out to me in this book is how through his own actions he teaches you to make ethical decisions in business. So many people these days look for the quickest way to get rich, instead of the right way to become wealthy. Do yourself a favor if you have visited one of my seminars, if you are now using my system, or if your just reading my blog because you follow my story purchase Cameron’s book and read it cover to cover. You will understand why I promote this book so much when your finished.

Anyone Can Learn – Anthony Morrison

March 31st, 2008   posted by admin in Entrepreneurship

I have decided that I will attempt to write on my blog every day while I am home for the next couple of weeks. I think this is a great way for me to share my story as well as my experiences with the world. I know many of you read my blog every day hoping either to learn something new about me, or to see the updates for our Hidden Millionaires tour. However, this post is not really going to be about me, my business, or even the Hidden Millionaires tour. This post should help everyone get in the right mindset to be successful, and here is what I mean by that. Two weeks ago I decided to do something I have literally never done before, read a book. Not just any book, but a book by a 23 year old entrepreneur, Cameron Johnson. It is completely unlike me to read a book let alone one about entrepreneurship, but I was absolutely compelled to read his book. The book is pretty straight forward as it clearly outlines his life story and how business has taught him many lessons along the way. When I was reading his book I felt like I was reading my own book “I Net Millions”, which will be released in 2008. His story is so much like mine from the time he bought and sold stocks as a teenager all the way to his internet business empire.  The only thing that sets us apart is “why” we ventured into the world of entrepreneurship. I must admit when I began reading the book I felt like I was in for a nice story, but wasn’t going to learn anything I didn’t already know about business. I was completely surprised at the end to find that I actually learned quite a few things from a fellow young entrepreneur that I can now use and implement into my own businesses. I learned a good lesson here, and that is you can learn from anyone if you simply give yourself the chance. I suggest everyone read his book I think you will find the book extremely informative as well as motivational. You can learn more about it at www.YouCallTheShotsBook.com
