I Miss My Brother

October 5th, 2011   posted by admin in Entrepreneurship, Motivation

So you’re probably thinking to yourself huh? What in the world does that subject line have to do with marketing, my blog or helping you for that matter. I know it seems kinda out there, but if you’ll read the rest of this post you will understand why “I miss my brother” is such a powerful statement that YOU can learn from immediately. What you learn from this statement can help you generate money in more than just one way. I am going to examine “the ways” to generate money from this statement for you, right now:

1. Engage Your Social Connections - Ok so you’re probably still thinking to yourself huh? Here’s the deal I was up late thinking to myself “man I really miss my brother” the other night so I decided to jump on Facebook and just let everyone know what I was thinking. It’s rare for me to do something like that as I typically keep my Facebook posts business related or at least marketing related. The next day I hop on Facebook and BAM! I have over 80 “likes” on that comment already. Typically that wouldn’t be such a big deal, but with all the changes Facebook has made lately my “likes” have been dwindling like crazy. What was so insane to me is that I made a post the day before about “get your free software” and I didn’t even get 50% of the Facebook likes! This taught me something (and it should teach you the same thing) and that is Facebook and social media shouldn’t be used “only” for business IF you truly want to engage your audience. You absolutely MUST let them know who you are, be personal and actually interact with them. So if you want fans or followers that actually listen to what you have to say it’s probably a good idea to interact on a more personal level. Lesson learned.

2. Clearing Your Mind Creates Masterful Ideas – When something is just weighing on your mind it’s hard to be creative. I suppose that is a bit of a “duh” comment to make, but for me it’s something I didn’t fully realize. Not seeing my brother has been weighing on my mind quite heavily of late. I use to see him literally every single day and now we go sometimes 3 weeks without even seeing each other. It was bothering me a lot more than I thought it was apparently. Once I went and spent some time with him, and made a commitment to myself that I will not go weeks without seeing him again, my mind completely cleared. I’ve been able to work all day and stay focused and I actually fell asleep last night pretty easily, which I haven’t done in awhile. Lesson learned.

3. Seeing Your Family Isn’t Optional – I’ve been burning myself out lately. I have always said “make time for family as well as business”, however, I don’t always live by what I teach. That isn’t a good thing (if it’s good enough for me to teach it well it ought to be good enough for me to live by it) but I am a bit hard headed when it comes to getting work done. I have so many goals, so many aspirations and want so much out of life that sometimes I just push everything aside because I am focused like a laser beam. BAD IDEA. I can’t tell you how much better I feel now that I just spent some time with my brother and the rest of my family. I realize (yet again) that they are far more important than my work, but it’s easy to forget that if you never let your mind process what your doing. I’m even taking a week off to visit Washington, Dc with my girlfriend… she loves “politics” and has always wanted to visit DC. I promised her we would go last June…. a year and a half later I am going to fulfill that promise. Yet another Lesson learned.

So you see what you can learn from this statement? I am sure these things are happening in your lives right now so my advice is don’t make the same mistakes I have made here lately. Hopefully this helps you avoid the little rut I had myself in and keeps your mind free and clear so you can really focus on what’s important in your life.

Is Your Ideal World Crushing Your Success?

April 7th, 2011   posted by admin in Entrepreneurship, Motivation

This weeks $50 Winner is Joshua Zamora says: April 2, 2011 at 9:19 am Never ever give up! It’s easy to quit that’s why so many people do it. Like you said people want easy and if success was easy everyone would have it already. I think going through the struggles can also be part of the fun on the journey to success. Those things you look back on when you make it! Congrats Joshua send me an email and ill get this gift card to you asap.

That’s a pretty interesting yet maybe confusing question for you to answer right now isn’t it? Let me ask you this question one more time and then i’ll explain what I mean by the question. Is YOUR ideal world crushing YOUR success? Ok so here is what I mean by this and hopefully you’re going to learn a lot from this blog that can help you create massive success in not only business, but also everything else in your life. You see so often we are fixated on what we perceive to be the “ideal model” that we stress out day in and day out to achieve what we believe to be ideal and forget to focus on the success we’ve had at up to that moment.

We all have our ideal world for whatever we like to do. If we like real estate investing maybe we constantly aspire to be like Donald Trump. If we like sports we always want to be Drew Brees or Alex Rodriguez. If we love business we always want to be CEO and live that crazy luxurious lifestyle. Having this whole “ideal” world is perfectly fine as long as you know how to keep it in it’s place and realize it’s not reality all while pulling new goals for yourself from your ideal world.

Let me give you an example.

You watch my TV show and see how successful I am. You are inspired by my story and success and decided to buy my book and do what I do. Maybe at this point let’s say you know nothing about affiliate marketing, Internet marketing or doing anything on the Internet beside maybe reading email.

Alright so fast forward say 4 months. Let’s say you now have your own blog and it’s coming along nicely. You’ve also setup advertising accounts on Bing and even Facebook. You’ve generated a few hundred dollars and your moving in the right direction.

Here’s where the problem starts. You continue to look FORWARD and think to yourself “well look what Anthony’s doing” and you get caught in this cycle of being unhappy because you constantly feel as if you are not where they need to be. Constantly focusing on this ideal world rather than focusing on how far you’ve come.

Really you should look back at where you started…. you knew nothing about the Internet, nothing about Google and never made a dollar online. Now you have a blog, know how to advertise and have even made some money in the process. Reality is you should be happy and excited about your success right? I mean don’t you deserve a pat on the back?

My point this week is it’s important to pat yourself on the back for the success you’ve had so far rather than punish yourself and stress out because you haven’t reached your ideal goal yet. So make sure this week you focus on being happy with your progress while still pulling new weekly goals from that ideal world you have so you can continue to grow and realize more success.

When You Fail… What Do You Learn?

April 1st, 2011   posted by admin in Entrepreneurship, Motivation

Last weeks $50 Gift Card Winner is Patricia Grant says: March 26, 2011 at 3:06 pm (Edit) Excellent idea writing and prioritizing the order. Lots of great info keeping us informed. On job and in transit by train/bus here in NY. taking time to study and taking lots of notes to get business off and running to obtain my goals faster. Have notepad/pen at my reach at all times. Patricia congrats on winning! Please email me immediately so I can ship out your gift card.

I have heard so many people say “ahhh I am giving up it’s not working” about things they do in their life. It doesn’t matter if it’s a new job or a new business this seems to be the “mindset” of most people. Failure should be looked at as something that is necessary for success. It’s very rare that any entrepreneur becomes successful without some degree of failure. We all want an easier life, but you have to be ok with those bumps in the road on the way there right?

One thing that all successful entrepreneurs seem to have is a very short “recovery period” meaning they recover from failure really fast. They analyze why they failed and then quickly implement strategies to keep it from occurring again. Entrepreneur’s use this “failure” as a way to learn how to be successful not as an excuse to give up and quit. Successful entrepreneur’s learn and grow from failure and eventually come out stronger, better and more profitable from this “learning process”.

My advice to you this week is don’t let failure keep you from achieving your goals. Think like an entrepreneur and let failure teach you the lessons you need to learn to create the success you want to achieve.

Lower Your Stress Level – Proven Technique

March 25th, 2011   posted by admin in Entrepreneurship, Motivation

Last Weeks $50 Winner is laura smith says: March 19, 2011 at 6:32 am (Edit) New Trying to learn !! Great info you have !! Just trying to study more and impement your info Thank you !! Comment #1 last week. Laura congrats and email me your information so I can ship out your $50 gift card immediately!

The past few weeks we have been discussing Facebook advertising and no doubt your head is spinning with ideas right now. Perfect! that’s exactly what I was hoping for to be honest with you. I want to spark that creative part of your brain into overdrive, and hopefully that has taken place the last few weeks. This week I want to focus more on how to reduce your stress level. It’s obvious that no matter what business you are currently running (or starting up) that with business comes stress. It’s just something I have learned to deal with over the last six years or so because I know it’s coming no matter what I do. My technique for reducing my stress level is something that I personally think can and will help everyone.

Typically in business your stress comes from having to many things on your plate and just simply not being organized. It’s hard when you have 15 things to do and they are all running through your mind at one time. You’re trying not to forget anything while attempting to get things on the list done at the same time. This is a formula for disaster and stress. Let me show you so you can visualize here…

TRYING TO REMEMBER YOUR LONG LIST OF THINGS TO DO + ALL RUNNING THROUGH YOUR MIND + ATTEMPTING TO COMPLETE = MASSIVE FRUSTRATION = MASSIVE STRESS

Get it? Now here is what I do that drastically reduces all this stress. I simply write everything on a notebook. I know I know “anthony that’s just silly” or “uhh to simple I am leaving this blog” ok fine your opinion DOES count, but honestly what do you have to lose by trying this? When you write things down it changes the way your brain processes everything associated with what you wrote down. Just simply knowing everything is written down nicely on a notepad clears the mind and eliminates part 1 of this equation (the all running through your mind part). If you can eliminate parts of this equation you can eliminate some of the stresses. You no longer have to try to remember, you no longer have to keep these things on your mind AND if you check things off your list you can visually see when you “complete” things on the list. This alone gives you a sense of accomplishment and therefore reduces your stress level.

Try it out for me ok….. bet it works!

Giving Away $50 Every Week… Good Idea?

January 19th, 2011   posted by admin in Entrepreneurship

Now here is where it get’s really interesting for all of my blog readers. I know you are all use to me doing video blogs (and yes I plan to get back to those), however, I noticed something really special when I decided to give away that first $50 gift card EXPLOSION of comments and interactivity. This is what makes YOU learn and grow you simply must be interacting on a weekly basis. So I have decided that I will continue this $50/week giveaway as long as you continue to come here and comment on the blog, Tweet the blog and Like it on Facebook. It’s pretty simple and with 52 weeks in a year you have a great chance of winning. So with that said…. on to this weeks blog topic.

What’s Hot RIGHT NOW –

Remember that marketing online is something that you do all year long, however, there are certain times that are “peak times” for certain types of things. Below I am going to list some of the rules I use when doing my online marketing to help you better understand what I am talking about:

1st Quarter of The Year - Weight loss products are big in demand simply because everyone’s resolution for the new year is to lose weight and look better. That also means beauty supply products are in huge demand. There is an enormous spike in searches for these types of products in January/Feb and even on into March. You can also lump those “As Seen on TV” Ab Rollers and Gliders and things like that into this category. Basically anything that can make you look better and get in shape be it products, vitamins or workout courses are really hot this time of year!

2nd Quarter of The Year – Travel is hooooot. Why? well think about it when do most people travel? Typically during the summer. This means everything from marketing credit cards (yep most people put travel/vacations on credit cards) to hotels and flights are big this time of year. You can also look at those things like destination resorts (think Disney World) which typically offer some kind of affiliate program to refer people to certain package deals they have in place. Anything that has to do with travel can also be big this time of year just like luggage. You might not typically think of luggage being a big deal, but when people have to travel they must have luggage.

3rd Quarter of The Year – Think Back To School. So you’ll have the typical school supplies and such online, but the market is so much broader than just that. You’re going to have kids going away to college and typically parents are getting them their first “credit card” so think “student credit cards” or even “gas reward cards” because of the travel to and from college. You also need to think apparel because so many kids get those “back to school clothes” and quite a few will shop online for bargains. Again it’s all about just understanding what is going on in our world.

4th Quarter of The Year - Think SANTA CLAUS. Plain and simple people start shopping for Christmas and they don’t stop until … sometimes after Christmas. Anything retail is going to be extremely HOT this time of year. Amazon gets a huge spike in sales (think Amazon affiliate program) and eBay crushes it (think eBay affiliate program). These are just two of the more common and extremely huge opportunities you have this time of year to cash in on the hundreds of millions of dollars spent online.

I hope you found this blog informative. My goal is to prep you now for what you need to do for the rest of the year. Basically helping you create your game plan for 2011 so you can create that massive success you want!

Common Mistakes by Internet Marketers

October 21st, 2010   posted by admin in Entrepreneurship, Internet Marketing

You might think that sounds crazy? You mean “Internet Marketers” make mistakes? Well the answer, in short, is absolutely YES they make mistakes. The fact is that marketing online is a business just like any other business, but the problem is many Internet Marketers treat it like a hobby which leads to many mistakes being made throughout the evolution of their business. Hey the fact is we all make mistakes! It’s perfectly fine as long as we learn from them… that’s called “learning the hard way”. My goal is to help you avoid these mistakes and take an easier road to success. So here are some common mistakes made by Internet Marketers every single day:

1. The whole “build it and they will come” idea -

You see that might have been the whole concept behind that Angels In The Outfield movie…. but it does not work when it comes to Internet Marketing. You simply can’t just throw up a website and expect since its on the World Wide Web that you’re going to just get pounded with traffic and sales. It just does not work that way. You have to learn marketing and apply what you have learned in order for people to find your website. There are many things you can do from SEO to PPV and everything in between to really get the word out about your website.

Here is a short list of marketing methods that can help you get out of this “build it and they are not coming” loop -

  • PPC – Pay Per Click Marketing
  • PPV – Pay Per View Marketing
  • SEO – Search Engine Optimization
  • Article Marketing – Free Traffic
  • Media Buying
  • Social Media Marketing
  • Email Marketing

2. The “ahh my business doesn’t need an email list” concept -

Really? Your business doesn’t need an email address? Wow. Ok let me correct you where you are absolutely WRONG. It does not matter what kind of business you have online you can benefit from an email list being created, updated and utilized every single day. Email marketing is one of the very few “free marketing” techniques that gets extremely high results. If you provide your email list with great content and information they will become avid readers of your information each and every day. This allows you to market to them pretty much anything you like and they will be hyper responsive. So many people wait until 2 years, 4 years or even 5+ years down the road to setup email marketing for their business. You should do it from the ground floor! From the very start and take advantage of all it can offer your business.

Here are some good companies that provide email autoresponders:

1. Aweber -Great company. I use them daily and they provide great statistics and a easy to use interface.
2. iContact – Another great company. Their interface (in my opinion) is a bit more difficult to navigate than Aweber’s.
3. MailChip – This company isn’t near as robust as the others mentioned, however, they do have a completely FREE option available!

3. The “I know everything already” mindset -

Honestly this is probably the one that gets most Internet Marketers. Always thinking you know “everything” closes your mind off to learning new things from other people. The concept that you CAN and probably WILL learn things from other people that you don’t know is what drives industry events such as Ad Tech and Affiliate Summit. These events literally host thousands of people all looking to network and learn from each other. You can also learn from other’s by just purchasing their courses and training information on the topics they have mastered. It’s actually a great idea because you will find that most Internet Marketers have a “niche” they are great at (basically they have mastered it) but then they are just “good” at everything else in their business. Well I look for those that have mastered “niches” and simply focus on learning that niche from them and moving on to learn another from someone else. This way I can master pretty much everything and my business will explode.

These are just a few of the things that keep some Internet Marketers from having the success they want and desire. It’s just important to remember that Internet Marketing is a business and should be treated as such. You should always look to learn more, share more and make your business grow by devoting your time and energy to it as much as you can.

Why You Should Own Your Own Domain

October 7th, 2009   posted by admin in Entrepreneurship

If you don’t own a domain name by now it’s probably time you register one for yourself. You can register your own domain names at www.PurchaseYour.com or really anywhere else on the Internet. I personally think owning a domain name is a must especially if you plan on doing business online. Domain names are simply “virtual real estate” which really make sense because Internet entrepreneur’s build businesses on these domain names.

Some people want to own a domain name simply to own one. A lot of my friends will try to buy their name .com .us .net or just .something so they can say they own their “name” on the Internet. That isn’t all together a bad idea, however, if you get creative and register some good domains you can actually make money from them. There is an entire industry built around buying, selling and trading domain names just like real estate. One of the websites that covers this industry best is DNJournal.com which lists a weekly report of domain names sold. Beware! What you see might just blow your mind. When you see that some domains have sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars and many domains have sold for thousands of dollars. It is in fact mind boggling.

Just a short lesson today on thoughts running through my head. If you have a creative idea or you are just looking to break into doing business on the Internet my suggestion would be start off by just owning a domain name and getting a feel for the industry as whole. It’s easy to do, fun and can actually turn out to be profitable for those that find a “gem” of a domain name.

Anthony Morrison – I met Mark Victor Hansen

September 1st, 2009   posted by admin in Entrepreneurship

First and foremost I want to thank every single one of you for the inspiring comments and emails you have sent my way. I consider myself extremely lucky to have each and every one of you purchase my book and let me share my knowledge and insight with you. This past weekend I was in Phoenix, Az and had the opportunity to speak at one of Mark Victor Hansen’s events. If you don’t know who he is, which I am sure you do, but he wrote the Chicken Soup book series. This man is absolutely incredible! He has sold over 150 million books worldwide.

Honestly to be able to meet him was great, but to speak at one of his events was really just something I never dreamed would happen to me. I want to thank everyone that attended for making it a great event and for sharing your personal stories with me. I hope to stay in constant contact with each of you as I am sure you will all grow and prosper in your own way after this event. I’m even motivated to do more and do what I do better now.

Below are a few pictures of Mark Hansen putting me in a choke hold…….. comedy of course. I hope everyone see’s that if a kid from Mississippi can end up speaking at events like this and be able to call someone like Mark Victor Hansen a friend…. anyone can! I hope my story and continued success does nothing but motivate you to create your own success story and your own path to financial freedom.

Anthony Morrison – Mentoring

July 15th, 2009   posted by admin in Entrepreneurship, News

Well I am in St. Louis, MO for the entire week doing some personal one on one mentoring. I have two students here that I am working with and I have to say I am loving it! I love the personal interaction that mentoring allows me to incorporate into my training. I love seminars, conferences, and big events; however, I think mentoring is something I enjoy even more! One thing about teaching that really facinates me is finding that moment that the student “gets it”. Sometimes it takes saying the same thing 10 different ways for one person to get it, and sometimes it takes only 3 or 4 times for others.
Fact is we are all programmed differently and we all learn differently. Mentoring allows me the one on one interaction I need to find out how each person learns so that I can relay the information in a way that they just simply get it. I really think the people I am working with this week are going to do some amazing things in the affiliate marketing space, and in the internet business space in general. I guess you learn from experience. I never really thought the idea of mentoring sounded fun, but now that I am doing it I love it.
I think everyone looking to make money in any industry should seek out a mentor. Just someone you can go to for tips, advice, techniques, strategies, and information on a daily basis, or as needed. I certainly can’t mentor people in anything outside of internet related subject matters, but there are people that can help you with real estate, stock investing, and business in general. I might even find a mentor for myself in “real estate” because right now I condiser myself real estate investing “dumb”, but I am learning!
I was lucky enough to get to go to the All Star baseball game tonight! Since we are here we decided to check it out. Very cool. Saw Obama through out the first pitch, a stealth bomber plane, and the American League win 4-3. Great seats, great city, great people….. Really having a great time!
