Are You The Best Affiliate Marketer You Can Be?

January 3rd, 2012   posted by admin in Affiliate Marketing, Blogging

Are you the best Affiliate Marketer you can be?  Sure, you have a few sites up and running and you are making a little money, but are you taking all the steps necessary to become the best?  Affiliate Marketing is not a get rich quick scheme.  It is a business that needs to be cultivated to continue bringing in revenue.  While Affiliate Marketing can be a good way to generate revenue to your website, using the tips below can ensure you have a solid foundation that you can build your business on for years to come.

Get to Know Your Customers

One of the biggest mistakes I see with newbie Affiliate Marketers is jumping right in and trying to sell products immediately.  How can you sell products to your audience when you do not know what they are interested in?  Take some time and get to know your audience.  Your first step should be asking yourself, “Why are people visiting my site?”  Once you know what they are interested in, you can brainstorm and tailor products that fill their needs.  For example, if you create a site that is dedicated to pet information, you can sell them pet training books, dog collars or treat recipes.  Your site should fill all your audience’s needs from information to products.

Make Sure Your Customer Have Trust in You

Customers are more likely to purchase products from people they trust.  Gaining that trust can take time, but it is necessary if you are going to have a successful business.  There are several ways that you can build this trust.  One of the easiest ways is through social marketing.  Facebook gives you the perfect opportunity to create a relationship with your customers.  Spend some time every day responding to your posts with relevant information.  Engage your visitors and get them thinking of you as a friend instead of a salesman.

You also want to make sure that selling products is not the main focus of your site.  Sure, you want to sell products, but you should use your site to give them relevant information that coincides with the products you are selling.  You want to provide your readers with great content that will keep them coming back for more.  Once you have their attention, you can share a product that you have found helpful.

Choose Products Wisely

You have thousands of products to choose from.  There is no reason that you should try selling products that you do not have a passion in and back 100%.  Take your time when choosing your products.  It will take time for you to choose a group of products that work well together and suit the needs of your client.  Try several products, but do not be afraid to switch to new products if you see they are not converting.  Your site is not set in stone.  You will have to make changes to products, banners and link ads until you find the combination that works for your audience.

Likewise, you do not want to try to sell products that are not related to your niche.  One wrong placed product can lose the trust that you have spent so long trying to gain.  When choosing products ask yourself, “Is this something my readers need?”  The products you choose should add relevant value to your site.

Becoming a successful Affiliate Marketer is not brain surgery.  However, there are steps that you need to follow if you are going to keep your audience coming back for more.  The most important tip I can give you is to take the time necessary to engage your followers.  Just because you are working from home, it does not mean that you don’t have to work every day.  You need to post articles, respond to questions and engage your audience if you are going to see product conversions.

How to Keep Your Audience Coming Back for More

December 27th, 2011   posted by admin in Affiliate Marketing, Blogging

Becoming a successful affiliate marketer is as simple as keeping readers coming back for more.  If you do not have the customers, you will not make sales.   It can be easy to get them to your site the first time, but are you giving them a compelling reason to continue visiting your site?  Following these few simple steps can help you create a site that will keep your visitors engaged and coming back to see what you have to say, and sell.

Keep Up To Date Content

Your readers are not coming to your site to just purchase products.  They return for the information that you provide them.  You need to make sure that the content on your site is continually updated to include the most relevant information.  Your goal is to sell products; however, if you do not keep your readers engaged, you will have no one to sell to.  I like to create articles and videos that are released two to three times a week.  This way, readers are more likely to visit my sites to read the new content.

You also want to make sure the articles and videos you post are not solely to sell products.  For example, if you have niche site for the latest version of a video game, create articles that explain the focus of the game, walkthroughs for tough levels and the latest buzz on the game.  You can also include videos of upcoming games and give links for them to pre-order.

Continue Your Education

Affiliate Marketing is always changing.  You need to keep up with the latest trends if you are going to stay on top of your game.  Do not think that because you have a successful site you will stay there.  New sites are created every day and they are looking to take over your top spot.  If you are going to stay on top of the game, you need to keep up with the Joneses and learn all of the new techniques.

One of the best ways to stay on top is to take internet marketing courses.  You can find courses that cover every aspect of internet marketing.  Watch every free course that you can find.  Find marketing gurus that over free video blogs with useful information.  Visit these blogs frequently and watch each blog post.  You may even want to sign up for a paid course to get the most relevant information.  You can find courses on every topic imaginable from market training and strategies to SEO practices and site creation.  Remember, your site is only as good as the information you provide.  You should have the most up to date information at your disposal.

Watch Out for the Latest, Greatest Products

I cannot stress this enough, your Affiliate Marketing success is only as good as the products you sell.  You can try till the end of time to sell products, but if your customer base is not looking for the product, you will not succeed.  You have thousands of products at your disposal through sites like Clickbank, Commission Junction and Linkshare, just to name a few.  Make sure the products you are offering are sellable.  This can be time consuming.  It is a trial and error game.  Do not be afraid to change products multiple times until you find a combination that works for your audience.  Changing products will also give your audience an added reason to visit your site.  Even if they have purchased a product from you, they will continue to visit to see the latest jewel you have to offer.

The Affiliate Marketing industry is growing and projection see it growing exponentially in the near future.  This means that you will have even more competition for your audience.  The key to success is to keep your customers engaged.  Following these simple steps can give you the advantage you will need to keep them coming back for more.

Holidays Are The Time For Sales If You Market It Properly

December 20th, 2011   posted by admin in Affiliate Marketing, Blogging

We are in the midst of the holiday season.  It is the most shopped season of the year.  Is your site holiday ready?  You know people will be shopping.  You need to make sure they are buying from you.  If you make a few simple changes and follow these steps, you can cash in on the holiday shopping rush.

Offer Free Incentives and Sales

One of the biggest turn off for online shoppers is shipping.  In fact, over 70% of shoppers will not buy a product because of the cost of shipping.  A good way to cash in on holiday shopping is to offer free shipping.  Most affiliate programs like Amazon Affiliates or Commission Junction offer products with free shipping for the holidays.  Take advantage of their generosity and pass it on to your customers.

Most shoppers also have several gifts to buy this holiday season.  They are always looking for the best price they can get.  Look for holiday deals that your readers will appreciate.  Something as simple as 10% off can mean the difference between a sale or a pass.

Change Your Products to Suit the Holiday

Product needs change with holiday seasons and your products should change to reflect the season.  Christmas will bring higher toy and electronic sales.  Halloween shows an increase in costumes and decorations.  Before each holiday do your research to make sure you are selling the products that are in high demand.  With a simple web search you can find the best products to sell each season.  Before the holiday gets here, check out these sites to see what products you should be selling:

  • Ebay Pulse
  • Amazon Best Sellers
  • About.com Editor’s Picks
  • Amazon Holiday Toy List
  • Google Trends
  • Yahoo Trending Now

Create Review Posts

One of the best ways to generate sales is to review products.  Online customers do not have the luxury of holding your products in their hands before making a purchase.  Write posts that review several products in your niche.  You can include links to your products in each review.  The more information you give your customers, the more likely you are to make a sale.

Make Buying Easy on Your Customers

The holiday season is hectic.  Take some time to make your site user friendly and you can increase sales. Include links to your products on your site’s main page.  Don’t make them have to search for the product they want to purchase.  You can also include helpful information like the last day to order and get their product on time.  The easier you make your site to navigate for your customers the best.

The holiday season should mean increased sales to your site.  People are busy shopping and you want to get in on the holiday rush.  With these few simple steps, you can ensure that your sales skyrocket this holiday season.

I’ve also put together a nice report to help you profit from the Holiday trends in affiliate marketing. You of course get this report COMPLETELY FREE because you are one of my loyal subscribers and students. Here ya go…

Integrating Your Site with Google+

December 13th, 2011   posted by admin in Blogging, Google+ Marketing Tips

Once you have a Google+ profile, you will need to start getting some followers.  One of the easiest ways to accomplish this goal is to integrate your Google+ profile with your website.

There are two ways to do this. You can get the +1 Button or the Google+ Badge.

+1 Button

The +1 Button allows webmasters to add a “+1” next to the content on their websites.  This is similar to the “Like” button on Facebook.  As you know, when someone “Likes” something on Facebook, it shows up in their stream so their friends can see it.  This causes more people to check the content out.  The same is true with the +1 button.  When someone clicks on the +1 button, the recommendation can show up:

  • In the +1 section of his Google+ profile
  • In his Google+ stream, if he chooses to share the content with his Circles
  • On the webmaster’s website, next to the content

Installing the +1 Button

You can install the +1 button by going to http://www.google.com/intl/en/webmasters/+1/button/index.html.  Once there, choose the button size.  Then, copy the code and post it into your website.

Now let’s look at the Google+ Badge

Google+ Badge

If you install the badge on your site, people can add you into their circles directly from your website.  This will help you get lots more followers.

Installing the Google+ Badge

If you want to install the Google+ badge, you can go to https://developers.google.com/+/plugins/badge/config.  Once there, link your Google+ page to your site.  Then, you can customize your badge.  At that point, you will receive a code.  Copy the code and paste it into your website.

Once you install these two buttons, check out my free report titled 4 Things You Need to Know About Google+.

Blogging Made Easy by Anthony Morrison

December 29th, 2009   posted by admin in Blogging

So since my last post about “blogging online” I have had many request to keep up with my blogs about how to create your own blog, generate traffic to your blog and ultimately make money from your blog. As you can see I don’t really use my blog to make money. You probably don’t want to follow my blog as an example of “how to make money from blogging”. The main reason is I simply don’t have the desire to have a huge blog that requires me to post daily. Many people, however, see this as a great way to generate income and have a great time doing it. So with that in mind I am going to share more insight on this opportunity with you over the next few weeks.

So let’s get started…

Step 1: You need a blog!
Yeah in order to make money from blogging the first thing you need is a blog. WordPress is in my opinion the best, hands down. That’s what I use and it’s actually what just about every blogger uses. In order to have one you will need to setup a hosting account to host your blog. I suggest using HostGator simply because once you setup your hosting account they have a feature that will auto install WordPress! That means you don’t really have to know much of anything to get your own blog live online. Pretty cool huh?

Step 2: Determine Your Topic
This is an important step. You need to determine the direction your blog is going to go in.. here are some things to think about:
A. Who is your target audience
B. What are you going to discuss on the blog
C. What revenue generating opportunities are there in that space
D. Where would you find your target audience (i.e. where do you find them to promote your blog)

Step 3: Get on a schedule
One of the most important things (I think anyway) is getting on a blogging schedule. This means just getting yourself acustom to blogging daily, every other day or weekly. It’s important to always reach out to the people reading your blog with new information on your topics. If you let your blog sit for too long without updating it people tend to forget about it. Go into your blogging with a good plan of action and you will end up more successful in the end.

Ok so how is all of this done…

Step 1: Solution
Simply go to HostGator right now and sign up. I think its like under $5/month for hosting which is pretty dang cheap. I use their service myself and they do a great job. Plus they have an affiliate program that pays you $50 for anyone you refer to them! Heck even I use that program! But really they have the best service and I mean how do you beat $5 a month for hosting and WordPress installed? Checkout HostGator now just Click Here…

Step 2: Solution
This is something you simply must determine on your own. Here are some suggestions to help you decide on what might be good for you:
A. Your target audience really depends on “what you are blogging about”. I suggest writing about something that you currently like or are interested in at the moment.
B. Again like I said blog about something you enjoy or something you know a lot about. Of course it needs to be something other people are interested in as well otherwise you will never have readers!
C. Once you’ve determined your subject that will help you determine your target audience. Now it’s easy to find revenue generating opportunities that fit within that demographic or target audience.
D. Now that we know all of that information it’s pretty easy to brainstorm on how to locate and advertise your blog to your target audience. (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Forums etc)

Step 3: Solution
Discipline. Success simply does not come to those put forth no effort. Don’t expect to make millions from your blog. Trust me it will take hard work to ever make the first penny. The fact is people do make money from blogging and it can be a lucrative opportunity. Those people making money will probably tell you “blogging is my job”. Yeah they think of it as a “job” because it requires time, energy and ambition.

Well I hope this helped shed some light on blogging. My next post will give you more of the “revenue generating” ideas for blogging. For now simply stay focused on getting your blog setup and choosing your topic to blog about. The rest will come in due time!

Anthony Morrison – Blogging For Income

September 30th, 2009   posted by admin in Blogging

As I said in my previous few posts the desire for me to write about various ways to generate income online has been made clear to me by all of the emails I have received from my clients, students, members and friends. So I have decided to open up the Anthony Morrison Official Blog to share my ideas and tips on making money in other industry and not just Affiliate Marketing. One of the things I will mention right now is that I personally have NOT generated any income by blogging. I do know many people that do, however, I write my blog to reach people and inspire, motivate and educate them about marketing and how to make money on the Internet.

With that said I obviously DO KNOW HOW to make money by blogging online. So I am going to give you just a few tips right now to get you started. Here is a list of things you will need:

1. Hosting Account
2. WordPress
3. Domain Name
4. Topic

Once you have these things are you ready to go! The topic you blog about is very important. To generate income with a blog you have to sell advertising either to individuals and companies or by way of programs like AdBrite.com or Google AdSense. Obviously some industries (topics) are more competitive than others online. The more competitive they are the more they pay for advertising and in turn the more you can make from your blog.

Blogging revenue can come from the following methods:

1. Advertising via Adsense
2. Sponsored Advertising You sell Directly To The Client
3. Creating a Mailing List
4. Utilizing Affiliate Marketing Throughout Your Blog

Ill write more on each of these and how its done in the next few days so stay tuned! I just want to give you enough right now to get your mind thinking and working. Ill explain these things in depth in the next few days.
