When you sell several types of products, it’s time consuming to write ads for each product. Fortunately, dynamic keyword insertion can cut down on the time it takes to create ads. Additionally, it will help you display highly targeted ads to users.
What is Dynamic Keyword Insertion?
Dynamic keyword insertion is the process of having your pay-per-click (PPC) or pay-per-impression (CPM) provider (i.e. AdWords, Microsoft AdCenter, etc) insert specific keywords into an ad for you. You will leave a place for the keyword, and the system will automatically fill it in with the appropriate word.
In order to understand this, let’s look at an example.
Assume you sell office furniture. You create an ad that says:
This ad is generic. It only advertises office furniture. There are lots of different kinds of office furniture out there, so people who are looking for a specific type probably won’t click on your ad.
You can use dynamic keyword insertion to make the ad more specific. In order to do this, you will need to replace “office furniture” with a dynamic keyword. Thus, you would have:
Then you would set up your dynamic keywords. In this example, you would choose types of office furniture. For instance, let’s say you sell:
Office desks
Office chairs
Conference tables
Thus, your dynamic keywords would be:
Office desks
Office chairs
Conference tables
Then, if someone came online and searched for “office desks,” the dynamic key phrase “office desks” would be inserted into the ad. Thus, the ad would say:
Since the person specially searched for office desks, he will be interested in your ad.
As you can see, dynamic keyword insertion can save you time and help you create highly targeted ads. Go through your CPM and PPC campaigns and see if dynamic keywords can spice up your ads and help with conversions.

Pay-per-click and cost-per-impression advertising are two great ways to generate traffic to your website. When you use PPC or CPM services, you have to write an advertisement. People who click on the ad are directed to your website, where they can make a purchase. If you want to get lots of people to click on your ad, you need to include a powerful call to action in the copy.
A call to action is just as it sounds. It’s a line in the copy that compels readers to take action. In advertising, the desired action is a purchase. Thus, the call to action should include words that will entice people to make a purchase.
Generic Call to Action
While most advertisers understand the importance of including a call to action, few know how to properly craft one. Instead of coming up with a compelling call to action, they use generic phrases such as “Order today” or “Buy now.” These generic phrases don’t elicit a response from readers.
Instead of using a generic call to action, you need to come up with compelling phrases that will actually make someone feel as if he has to take action immediately. Use phrases like:
Download the report
Get your quote
Get your 20% discount today
Notice that each of these phrases is specific to an actual product or service. Because of that, they are not generic, and thus, will have more power with the readers.
Evaluate your PPC and CPM ads and see if they will benefit from changes to the call to action. If so, make those changes so your click through rate and conversions can go up.

As humans, we are conditioned to follow a series of steps in order to receive optimal results. That’s why manufacturers include steps on their products. For example, if you download software, you will see a step-by-step guide that you will need to follow to complete the download. The same is true if you start a diet, wash your hair or enroll in school. Most things in life have steps, so people are used to following those steps. They know they need to complete each step to receive the best results, so they don’t even consider eliminating a step. They go on autopilot and complete all of the steps so they can receive the results they want.
You’re probably asking, “How does this apply to affiliate marketing?”
You can link products together and include a step-by-step process. When you do this, you will sell more products, since people will feel compelled to complete each step.
Let’s see how this works.
Assume you market health care and fitness products. You currently advertise for a:
You start off by marketing each product individually. You’re making decent money, but you would like to increase your revenue. In order to do that, you would stop marketing the products separately and start advertising them as parts of a three-step fitness process.
You would throw your old marketing methods out the window and replace them with your new process. Your new plan would look like:
3 Steps to a Healthier You
Step 1-Take the Cleanse
Step 2-Start the diet supplement
Step 3-ride the exercise bike for 45 minutes each day
Follow these three steps and you will have a new, healthier you in as little as two months!
When people see this, they will feel compelled to follow each step. If they only take the cleanse, they won’t receive optimal results. The same is true if they only take the cleanse and ride the bike. They need to follow all three steps if they are going to get the body they want, which means they have to purchase all three products.
Look for products that you can link together and start your own step-by-step process. Then, let me know how this system works for you in the comment section.

Continuing with our Facebook advertising tips I want to take a moment to discuss the CPM model that you can utilize while advertising on Facebook. As you know most of the time we advocate Pay Per Click advertising, which simply means only pay when someone clicks on your ad. This is great, however, it does have it’s downside also. When you’re paying per click it’s rare that you are going to get much of a “discount” on your advertising. With CPM advertising you pay for “views” not for clicks so it is possible to start saving on your advertising by simply increasing your click through ratio. Take for example:
If you are running an ad on Facebook and paying a $2.00 CPM (meaning $2.00 for every 1000 views) and your CTR (click through ratio) is .04 that means you are getting 4 clicks for your $2.00 so you are averaging about .50 per click. Now if you do anything to INCREASE your CTR that simply means you are going to get more clicks at the same cost, therefore, reducing your actual amount you spend to get visitors to your website.
CPM advertising isn’t hard, but it does require that you pay very close attention to getting increased click throughs on your ads. The previous blog post I put up about split testing images and targeting ads to specific types of people should help you with increasing your CTR and getting more traffic for less money from Facebook. Enjoy!

Continuing with our Facebook marketing blitz this week I want to give you one tip that I think can really help you explode your Facebook marketing results. Since places like Google, Yahoo! and MSN don’t really offer an “image” option when advertising I have found that many people just discount it’s importance when advertising on Facebook. The great thing about Facebook is the fact that they do, in fact, allow you to use images in your ad copy. Images in turn can help or hurt your results.
Many people just search real fast to find some sort of relevant image and as long as it fits what their ad is about they use it. That is a really bad idea since images can greatly increase your click through ratio. My advice is to make sure you split test many images with your ad copy and find the one that really works for you. Some examples of how I use different images with different ad copy for different target audiences are below:
Ad 1: Goes To Females
Watch Movies
Anytime You Want
** The image that I use with this ad might be of a movie like “The Notebook” something women like. This should increase the click through ratio for the ad.
Ad 2: Goes to Males
Watch Movies
Anytime You Want
** The image used with this ad might be of a movie like “Transformers” something men like. This should increase click through ratio on this ad.
So these are just two short examples. Use images that appeal to your target audience and you can get some much higher click through ratios! It’s important to make sure the images you are using are not copyrighted or if they are that you get permission to use them. One of the places that you can get many pictures for use in Facebook ads might be stockphotos.com or something of that nature. Just remember that your image should be EXTREMELY relevant and eye catching and if it is it’s going to result in far better results from your Facebook marketing efforts.

**NOTE – YOU MUST FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS TO WIN … you have to complete all 4 steps to be entered to win the $50 so make sure you do it all… it only takes seconds. And I really want to know what YOU THINK about this post? Will it help you in your marketing efforts?
So we all know that affiliate marketing isn’t the “easiest” thing in the world. I am sure you can all find other jobs, businesses and activities that are probably easier than affiliate marketing. With that said I think it’s also important to realize how easy it is when compared to the revenue you can generate from it. Working at home, sitting on my computer, marketing other people’s products and earning money is a lot easier than being the CEO of some major corporation, and I probably make close to the same money. So when you put it in perspective it’s not really “that hard”, right?
Anyway the goal of this post is to share with you one thing that you absolutely must do as an affiliate. You have to target the customer YOU want and ONLY that customer. You don’t get paid when people just browse around you need them purchasing things so you can earn commissions. One of the easiest ways I have found to really refine and target your audience is to use Facebook as a marketing platform.
Remember when you sign up on Facebook they ask you just about every questions you could possible dream of about yourself which is a marketers dream. Now as an advertisers on Facebook you can target by things such as age, gender, relationship status, college, education level, city, state, hobbies, interest and so much more. This makes targeting that exact customer pretty easy.
Over the next few weeks I am going to share some really cool Facebook marketing tips with you so it’s best you don’t miss any of the blogs coming your way…
Here’s my tip for this week.
Use the Facebook “Birthday” feature. This allows you to target people on their birthday’s. So let’s say you have an ad running that says something like:
Happy Birthday
www.yourwebsite.com
Now the ONLY people that will see this are people who login to Facebook on their birthday’s. This allows you to use “happy birthday” in your ad and really increase your click through ratios….. go use it! Check back next week for more tips!

I gotta say videos like this are what really make me excited and happy that I am doing what I do. You should watch the video below, submitted by Carol Amato, about her experience and thoughts about my books Advertising Profits From Home and The Hidden Millionaire. It’s interesting that she says “Anthony never gave me all these false claims of making thousands of dollars.” I am SO GLAD she mentioned that because that’s what I really strive for each day. I don’t want people to think what I teach is going to make them millions and billions of dollars… I want you to realize that if you listen and learn, hey it’s possible to generate some cash online…. maybe not millions or even thousands…. but every little bit helps, right? Watch the video and judge for yourself.
Carol has a really cool blog up at Carol Amato’s Blog – my suggestion is that you check it out! Also, Carol is a very active member of our Live! Community. So, if you haven’t joined, do so now, and you can connect with Carol and ask her questions about her success, and how she’s been able to grow to what she says double this month. I want to make it very clear I am not posting her video/story to get you to buy something else or anything like that. This is just a true story of success, and I think everyone should hear about it to inspire them to do great things. If you don’t want me to teach you that’s fine, but the fact is you should educate yourself about how to make money on the Internet.
I don’t necessarily believe “who teaches you” is the most important part of the equation. I think the “You are learning” part is far more important than who actually teaches you. All of us so called “gurus” have our own way of doing things and for the most part, they are things that have just worked for us. The great thing is there are so many ways to create success online. Each guru might teach something different, but it’s probably something that actually does work. Finding the right “guru” to teach you may be challenging…. I do my very very very best to make it as easy as possible to follow my courses, implement my techniques and create some level of success…… So I want to know….

And I really want to know what YOU THINK about how well I am doing MY JOB which is to teach you and provide you with the platforms to learn Internet marketing.
I know many of you are new to the affiliate marketing industry so I want to make sure you take full advantage of everything available to help you create success. In this blog I am going to list some of the things that you can do to help prepare yourself for success and to avoid the pitfalls that some new affiliate marketers fall into. So without further waiting….. here are my tips:
1. Attend Industry Events - Attend trade shows such as ad:tech and Affiliate Summit. While you are there you can walk around and meet with affiliate managers from the networks, find new networks to work with, and chat with some of the most successful affiliates on the planet. These industry events are surely the best way to make the connections you need to help further your success in this industry Many of the most successful affiliates attend these events year after year to continue learning from each other. This is a great way to get “insider” tips from super affiliates without spending any money on other educational courses. These events always have “seminar sessions” where some of the top affiliates and marketers will share tips, techniques and information to help you jump start your success. I’ve been attending for years now, and so should you!
2. Pick a Vertical – Some of the most popular verticals are Credit, Dating, Diet, Auto, Education, Mobile, Coupons. Once you select your vertical stay true to it and continue to market offers within that vertical. The reason I think this is so important is because as a new affiliate it’s hard to learn everything at one time. It’s like building a house you need to do it step by step and in a methodical manor. Running out here and trying to dominate every vertical isn’t smart, especially if you haven’t even found success in anything to date. So my advice is to pick a vertical and stick to it. Learn it and master it. Once you create success in order to make your business grow, simply go into other verticals and learn them one by one.
3. Choosing Your Traffic Source – Again it’s very important to select one or two types of traffic and master driving traffic that way. It makes no sense to try to learn everything at one time. There are affiliates making money in every vertical with every combination of traffic source you can think of, trust me. So that means no matter what you choose you have the potential to be successful. I suggest you start with search and display advertising with a mix of social media. Once you’ve mastered this you can move into some of the more advanced “and risky” advertising like direct cpv and media buying. Following this pattern allows you to limit your “risk” and still obtain that reward you want, which is successful campaigns.
ALWAYS TAKE ADVANTAGE OF FREE MONEY !!! (SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS)

So I have been doing a great series on how to write “killer PPC ads” on my video blog for the last few weeks. If you haven’t watched them yet check them out now (just visit www.anthonymorrison.com) the videos really rock. Some people left some comments about “how to go social” and “does it cost a fortune” to advertise on social media sites. I suppose when you look at Facebook being worth BILLIONS of dollars and you realize it’s all because of advertising revenue…. one could easily assume it cost a ton of money to generate traffic from social media networks.
The fact is that, yes, you can spend a lot of money advertising on social media networks, however, you don’t have to spend money in order to still garner some traffic and success. Facebook offers the “paid advertising” which is sure to generate more traffic and exposure to your site, however, they also offer things like fan pages, status updates, likes and wall comments. You can easily gain some traffic to your offers by just using the free spots on Facebook to post about your business. If it’s free why not do it right?
What about Twitter? Well we all know that Twitter is free and you can easily promote things on your Twitter feed. Of course you need followers in order to make that really happen on a large scale. Obtaining followers isn’t as easy as “follow me and ill follow you” at least not if you want your Twitter account to actually be of worth to your business. You need people to follow you because they WANT to hear what you have to say. I have found that by Tweeting often people will follow you and “re-tweet” what you have to say. This helps you build a following that actually wants to follow you for the right reasons. Promoting your business is then pretty simple, and free.
Again these are not knock down 10000% ways to generate millions of people and millions of dollars. They are, however, very good ways to generate traffic too your website free of charge. Over the years I have developed some software that automates the entire process of advertising on Facebook and Tweeting on Twitter. You can check out the page by just visiting here SocialAdsPro Software this is my own personal software and it rocks!
So in closing this weeks blog make sure you are utilizing every opportunity before you to generate traffic and customers to your website and affiliate offers. Focusing on the paid advertising is great, but don’t neglect the free opportunities that exist within just about every single social network I have ever seen. It might sound like “not much” but remember 100 pennies = 1 dollar right? Build up a lot of free traffic and it can cumulatively equal a substantial amount.
One of the things we as Affiliates need to understand is that we are building a business BUT NOT the traditionally “corporate” way. We don’t need business plans, minute meetings, forcasting, quarterly reports and all of those things to be successful. Those things, in fact, might be the demise of any affiliate business on earth. So it’s important to me to let you all know (because I know that some of you reading this are business majors) that traditional business schooling isn’t going to get you anywhere in this industry.
You simply can’t “forecast” things when you are an affiliate. As an affiliate you need to be able to change and adapt quickly to changes in the marketplace. I’ll never forget my first experience with this exact thing. Here’s an outline of what happened..
A few years ago I was marketing on Yahoo! and I had a few accounts (probably 8 or so) and at the time Yahoo! let you bid for placement. That just meant whoever bid the most was the #1 results and then on down the line based ONLY on the amount of money you were willing to pay per click. I developed my method for getting my traffic at the prices I was comfortable with and I was on my way. This, however, all changed when Yahoo! decided that it no longer was going to let you just “bid for placement” meaning you were not guaranteed to show up #1 even if you have the highest bid per click. Now all of the sudden relevancy matters. This meant changing ads, marketing techniques, landing pages and so much more IN 8 DIFFERENT ACCOUNTS.
See there was no way to forecast that change that Yahoo! made and how it would affect my business. I was easily able to adapt and change my strategy and stay in the game generating good money, but it wasn’t the same as it previously had been.
The lesson you should learn here is quite simple. You need a plan of action (you can grab my full year plan 365 DAY PLAN if you like) in order to be successful. You can’t just go in blind, but you also need to have the ability to adapt to changes in the marketplace. Focus your time on these things rather than on forecasting and creating business plans and such. As an affiliate you will end up more successful this way!
